Ack, of course? what do you mean by this, of course? My brother went there, I thought U Chi was one of the few good ones. I have actually been encouraging my kid to try and get in there for just this reason.

I'm sorry. I'm sorry. University of Chicago is an excellent school academically but is very liberal. Many of the faculty and students are way over on the left. Obviously it is first rate academically -- its new PhDs get hired by Columbia. However, brace yourself for what your child will hear from the professors. (No matter where he goes.) And good luck with the college admission process! It's an experience.
