It must be made very clear that the resources of United States will finally be available for the use of the U.S. people, for the betterment of those same people.
In that, the United States people will finally share in the wealth of their country that has always belonged to them rather than corporations sharing it with their family and the cronies of their brutal regime.

What a Communist Interpretation!
The property is owned Specifically by a citizen of the US
it's not meant to be owned Generally by the citizens. That can only be done by the Government
which is not supposed to own it!

President Bush said several months ago that portions of Iraqi oil profits would be used to help defray the costs of the military operation, the rebuilding of Iraq's infrastructure and the expenses associated with post-war administration. I personally never viewed the costs of this war as something that US Taxpayers would ultimately be responsible for.

So lemme get this straight...we march in there, bomb the hell out of their towns and villages, kill bunches of their people, overthrow their leader, and then at the end, stick them with the bill?
If it wasn't so sad, it would be downright hilarious.

Ok, how about,
They fly in here, fly airliners into out largest buildings, kill bunches of our people, attempt to assassinate our leader, and then at the end, stick us with the bill?
make you feel better?

I'd probably be pretty pissed, actually, that my stuff got stolen.

make you feel better? No, not really, because according to this rationale, it's ok for someone else to do something like this to us. Again.

So lemme get this straight...we march in there, bomb the hell out of their towns and villages, kill bunches of their people, overthrow their leader, and then at the end, stick them with the bill? It appears to me that the Iraqi Military has used the Iraqi Oil money to destroy their towns and villages, kill bunches of their own people, and repress those lucky enough to live. While we make every effort to avoid civilian casualties, the Republican Guard guns down women and children trying to leave Basra. The "Iraqi" oil money has gone into Saddam's pocket to be used as a tool in his Stalinist regime. The Iraqi people are entitled to have the kind of country they want built with the resources of their land - that would be oil money. We are spending our money providing them with that opportunity.

Now, let's find out if we can legally do the same thing in California.

The Iraqi people are entitled to have the kind of country they want built with the resources of their land This is a statement with which I agree. However, I don't agree that it is our right to steal their resources and use that money how we think is best for them. This is why countries around the world hate the United States, because we're always doing dumb crap like this. We think we know what's best, and then we execute whatever that policy is, by force, regardless of what those people want.
My opinion of the war aside, if it is the right of the Iraqi people to determine their own destiny, which I think it is, then it is their right to use their resources however they choose to rebuild their land.

It is simply the price of freedom. It won't happen to us because we are already free. We have something to fight for.

No, not really, because according to this rationale, it's ok for someone else to do something like this to us. Again. The point was lost on you wasn't it? Since they did NOT pay for the rebuilding of the WTC, nor pay the families of the people who were killed, they get to pay, instead, for the rebuilding of their country.
It all evens out in the end.

Oh, so if we attack them and they pay, it evens out! Right...heck, Israel is having such great luck with similar policies. There's NEVER any suicide bombers there or anything.

Not, if by allowing them that, I'll have to see my grandchildren go over there in 15 years to do this BS all over, again.
