Read rumors of this a few days ago, now we have confirmation and a few new details.
Quote from Moore: Im making a film called Fahrenheit 911, The Temperature at Which Freedom Burns. Itll be about how Bush is using 9/11 and those 3,000 lost lives as an excuse to move along his own conservative agenda.
The documentary "will be about the ties between the BUSH family and the BIN LADEN family... about the changes in America since 9-11..."
TOPICS: Culture/Society; News/Current Events
KEYWORDS: 911; film; michaelmoore; michealmoore

It'll be very interesting to see how Michael Moore finances this movie. It'll probably be done from the royalties generated from his last book Stupid White Men, more or less; he certainly won't get it overtly from the entertainment companies.

Can Michael Moore say libel & slander? LOL

I thought Mel Gibson's production company was financing it?

It doesn't say it's a done deal. I doubt Mel's company ever seriously considered this, let alone doing it.

Well, one can only hope that Gibson's company is tying up the rights to this film and then just "sits" on it.
To: Hildy
No kidding.

In my limited connection with trying to get a movie made in Hollywood, and I know there are others here with much more experience...names are dropped in order to get more funding. Nothing is ever definite until all the i's are dotted, and even then...the movie business is the single most slimy business I've ever been a party to.

Brought to you by Greenpeace, Moveon.org as well as our $$
channeled through movie houses to leftwing actors and finally to MM. A lowgrade form of transactional jihad.

Calm reasoning and gentle persuasion do not work on Michael Moore. Admonitions from the public have no more control of his various mouth-farts than supplications from humble villagers have over the eruption of a volcano.
Michael Moore is more to be pitied than feared. He lacks any critical judgment, though he has a sufficiently critical tongue, and may be depended upon to overreach so far, that he becomes merely a foolish buffoon, a caricature of himself, without any serious message.
I just do not have that many ways to call him simply stupid.
To: Schuck
I hope nothing bad happens to Michael Moore. I really do.

speaking of Mel Gibson......
The O'Reilly Factor and The No Spin Zone, Bill's non-fiction books, have both reached number one on The New York Times bestseller list. Mel Gibson's Icon Productions also has optioned Bill's novel Those Who Trespass for the motion picture screen.

If we can get enough info about where and when he will be filming, etc. we could freep the heck out of this film. Show up near the filming area with air horns, bull horns, whatever. Every time he starts filming the noise starts - wasting his time, wasting the pay that he has to pay the crews, wasting expensive film, and bugging the crap out of Michael "Malodorous Marxist" Moore.
