Can anyone identify the specific brand of battery here? I've done a quick google search and this was the most comprehensive list of car battery brands that I could find:
http://uuhome.de/william.darden/batbrand.htm Although a number of them are located in France, I can't find any companies or brands named "FRANCE."
In light of that, and the obvious PR value of this being true, and the big, blocked, non-stylized lettering, I am somewhat skeptical of the authenticity of this photo. However, the reports of NBC blurring the word only add to it's credibility, in my opinion.

"That is the ultimate humiliation...to be labelled totally irrelevant."
I've found that what galls the Dems and liberals the most is to treat them with indifference. They can accept anything but indifference, because indifference tells them that they are meaningless, and, yes, irrelevant.

Of course, since this is a car battery, thus likely pulled out of a car, it isn't that big a deal that France has sold cars to Iraq.
Authentic or not, this makes more of a political cartoon than an indictment of France's complicity in Iraqi torture.
I think France is guilty as sin in too much of this situation, but this particular image is not part of the vast body of evidence that proves it.

Just saw Richard Marcinko (Capt, SEAL, USN Ret.) on Fox News, stating that the surviving POW's have likely been pulled back to Baghdad. He also pointed out that we should not attempt to rescue any of them if we can't get all of them at once, since the remaining POW's would be punished for the escape.
As a side note, seeing this military legend and eye-candy Laurie Dhue all at once was quite a thrill.

"Take off the gloves, Rummy! I don't ever want to read another article like this!"

Millions of patriots have been making the point, -ever since 9/11, -- that the 'gloves' should not be on.
-- Rummy and the WH boyos have convinced themselves that they can fight a ~new~ kind of 'limited' war. The grunts around Bagdad will pay, -- until the gloves come off.
Limited war is a political dream, and a soldiers nightmare.
We never learn.

My bet is that they have it hooked up to a transformer and are wetting down the person they are torturing. You'd have to knock the current down, thus raising the voltage
(since current is invertly proportional to voltage,E=I*R(Ohm's Law)in order for the person to survive multiple electroshock sessions.
For example, stun guns usually start out in the 100,000 volt range, which makes the current non-lethal.Also,it only takes about 60 milliamps to cause ventricular fibrillation in adults. The frequency(Hz) of the current also plays a role.
I noticed a small box next to the battery in the photo. My guess is that is the transformer. Hope this is not too graphic.Just trying to give you an idea of what would be involved.

CLASS ACTION SUIT IN U.S. COURTS
All the family members of American soldiers killed, tortured or wounded as a consequnce of Iraqi governmental actions in violation of the Geneva convention should file a class action suit in the U.S. courts, naming Iraqi assets, i.e. oil revenues as source of compensation.
Of course, this should follow hanging of all Iraqis responsible for war crimes and violations of the Geneva convention, and after trials by coalition courts martial, NOT by an international court like Hague, which is probably manned by dogs from France, Belgium, Germany and other countries which hate us.
