A Columbia University senior whose Army colonel father is serving in Kuwait took it personally when a professor said the U.S. military should suffer "a million Mogadishus."

Nicholas De Genova called for the defeat of American forces in Iraq during an anti-war teach-in at Columbia's campus in Morningside Heights Wednesday.

De Genova wasn't at his home or office yesterday.

Now that his comments have become international news...this coward will probably be MIA from the public debate, lest he get his a$$ kicked!

Go to the following link and read Bill Whittle's essay entitled "History"

The perfect rebuttal to De Genova and his ilk.

"A Columbia professor wished death upon the father of a Columbia University student and possibly [on the parents of] other students," Pratt said.

DeGenova was practicing "Hate Speech". When does his "sensitivity training" begin?

"But earlier, a university spokesman distanced the school from De Genova's remarks, saying his statement "does not in any way represent the views of Columbia University."

Good news!

Then we all may assume this idiot (De Genova) will soon be unemployed?

No, not a good assumption. Columbia is historically very liberal and like the article says, Pratt feels ostrasized and out of place by the prevalent anti-war sentiment on the famously liberal campus.

My question is why would anyone elect to go to a well known liberal college in the first place?

This is the real value of talk radio and the internet. Twenty years ago, these cowards were never called to account for their outrageous statements. Now thanks to radio, Fox, the internet and yes, Bill O'Reilly they are being exposed. It is "delicious" to hear them squeal about "suppresion" of their views and the infringements on their First Amendment rights. Now for the person who is worried about the "professor" keeping his job, there are a lot of us out here who are alumni of these schools and who have (quietly) made it clear we do not appreciate such anti Americanism and we are going to close our wallets.

Anyone who'd like to drop a line to the President of Columbia U should address it to:

President Bollinger
Columbia University
New York NY 10027

Be warned, he's a law prof and his area is First Amendment rights, so I wouldn't try to lecture him on that. I'd just point out that

1) Columbia has hate speech laws, why is it okay to dis some people but not others? and

2) They have a responsiblity to their Board of Trustees not to employ those who will cost the school money in the long run. JMHO.

You've struck the only playing card the anti-liberal/commie alumni have. Alumni groups everywhere need to organize and play hard ball with administrators of anti-American universities in not so "quiet" a way. Can't endowments and grants be recinded when the recipient schools become traitors to our country?

It's ironic but true, once again the only thing hypocritical socialists seem to understand and crave is MONEY! Take it away, and their knees buckle. Take it away, and they become disorganized. Take it away, and their message becomes a whisper. Take it away and their rent-a-protest crowd disappears. Take it away, and there is more peace and harmony in the world!

Bottom line is alumni everywhere need to make THEIR voices heard. For every reaction, there is an equal and opposite reaction and it's damned time the older crowd (alumni) find their voices!

EXCELLENT point, and one that should be asked the administration of Columbia, which has become a run-away freight train in the school of liberal/marxist thought.

(Professor DeGenova rated by his students, scores 1.5 out of 5) This link will take you to the latest ratings of Professor DeGenova's classroom style by his captive audiences. The comments are particularly illuminating and encouraging, as the most recent reflect upon DeGenova's "Mogadishu" comment.
