Riggs said one woman who spoke at yesterday's press conference, Charmaine Yoest, a national advisory board member with the Independent Women's Forum, relayed a recent example involving DACOWITS that illustrated the need for less military feminization.
"On Sept. 10 the day before those awful terrorist attacks DACOWITS was discussing lactation and the need for breast-feeding policies within the Army," Riggs said. "This, the day before so many people died" in New York City and at the Pentagon.
"This is no longer a power game where ambitious women can try to advance their careers," Rios said during her speech, "this is a matter of life and death. Any claim that women are equal to men in combat settings is utterly irrational."
Rios cited a recent Royal British Army study that found stark differences between men and women under combat conditions. In one phase of the study, men failed 20 percent of the time to carry 90 pounds of artillery shells over certain distances, she said, adding that women failed "90 percent of the time."
"In a mission simulating wartime conditions, male and female soldiers were asked to carry 60 pounds of equipment while marching 12.5 miles, completing the exercise with target practice. Seventeen percent of the men failed, [as did] 48 percent of the women," she said.

Women degrade combat readiness. Men (and women) die more often when that happens.

The military can't be a lifestyle laboratory. People get injured or killed. The feminazis live a sheltered life and have no idea of what the real world conditions of combat involve. If they did they'd be less likely to push forward the nutty idea of women in combat.

I couldn't agree more. I do not believe that women belong on the battlefield. God made us different from men for a reason.

We'll really be in trouble when the Army has lactating regulations for transgendered men.
Seriesly, I've never known a woman who could do the physical work of a man. And I lived in San Francisco, home of many large ugly lesbians. At a martial arts demo, a coven of big ugly lesbians snarled, grunted, and looked tough as they tried to to the easiest task, breaking though a plank with their fists. Every single ine of them failed. LOL! Their fantasies of what they can do should not jeopardize the public or other miilitary personnel. Keep them out of battles.

"Any claim that women are equal to men in combat settings is utterly irrational." Shouldn't that be "udderly" irrational?

That is obvious. But this post caused me to think of that female American POW. I can't imagine what she is going through. I hope she is in the hands of people who are not brutes.

"Yet activists are still promoting lower training standards and co-ed basic training policies that disregard the safety of the American people for the false leftist idea that women and men are exactly the same." I find it disturbing that this approach is still continuing. Of course, standards shouldn't be lowered. That is not even logical. We see the results with the police and fire fighters where standards are lowered for MEN who are overweight or cannot pass physical tests.
However, as a woman, I think women should be able to play a part in the military IF they can meet the same standards men can meet without lowering the standards.
Where that line is, though, I just don't know. Any ideas?

The military does not deploy male soldiers to combat who are not capable and who would compromise the other soldiers.
They are not going to deploy a 100 lb. weakling to the most ardous physcial tasks. This would be true regardless of sex. This is all the more true in a volunteer army. Likewise if a person has a specific non-combat skill that can be utilized, that person will not be placed in combat. They will be placed where they can utilize their talent or skill to the best advantage of the whole military. This is common sense.
The military places people where they can do the most good for the objective desired. I see no reason why that policy would ever change. Set the standards for the tasks required to be done and then apply them across the board. Real simple.

Not a slam on women in the support roles, gotta love them there. BUT THEY DO NOT BELONG IN GROUND COMBAT.

Do they belong in the military?
1) According to The Washington Times, 16 percent of the female contingent on any warship are airlifted out during the course of a year as pregnancies become advanced.
2) In Bosnia, reports The Wall Street Journal, there was one new pregnancy every three days.
3) At basic training centers around the nation, Aberdeen, Fort Jackson, Fort Leonard Wood and the Great Lakes Training Center, extreme instances of sexual harassment have been reported. At the Great Lakes Center, five instructors were charged with gross misconduct, including throwing a mattress on the floor and ordering female recruits to undress. The only service to avoid sexual harassment problems is the Marines, which segregates the sexes.

Have you ever seen G.I Jane? Its hard to visualize a beautiful woman getting respect from male soldiers when she can't even pull her own weight.

I watched the eyes of that female p.o.w. and felt the fear she probably felt. I pray they will return to us in good condition.
