Everybody is reporting this deal, and this is about the tenth news source I've read. Every one of them reports what Michael Moore has told them, and not one has any kind of quotation, direct or indirect, from Mel Gibson's side.
So, it's hard to see why Moore would lie openly about a deal that will soon be either confirmed or denied. But I still fail to see what's in it for Mel Gibson. It goes against all his earlier work, and it would severely enrage most of his fan base.
Well, presumably we'll have a confirmation or a denial sometime soon.

Is it possible, however unlikely, the Mel Gibson is, in fact, signing this guy up, and then plans on shelving the movie? He would own it, wouldn't he? I can forsee neverending problems in the editing room.
Better yet, how about an alternate "producers" edit? It might be real interesting to have Icon productions supply their own camera crew to document this so called academy award winners "history making production."

These are not "work"; they're just silly movies that made boatloads of money.
Gibson's a businessman, and he's no doubt seen that "Bowling for Columbine" made $40 million.
Gibson's "fan base" is women, of all political persuasions, and men who like other macho men.
That's a bunch of folks.
I don't doubt that this story is true.
It's not personal, Cicero. It's just business.

I've never heard of that publication, but apparently, it is connected with Hollywood.

So, it's hard to see why Moore would lie openly about a deal that will soon be either confirmed or denied. Could be like that book signing in San Diego. At midnight, more than an hour after function was supposed to end, the janiter asked Moore to move outside, as he wanted to clean the hall.
Moore refused, so the janitor called the police. When they arrived, Moore inflamed the crowd declaring that free speech was in danger.
Michael Moore "Oh! Come and see the violence inherent in the system! --- HELP! HELP! I'm being repressed!"
It gave him a few quotes to later use from people willing to support him and his cause (same thing really). Although in the moring, when the full facts were known one of them advised "never meet yoor heros".
