Icon IS producing a remake of Fahrenheit 451. It's possible this is a case of Mistaken Production Identity. Fahrenheit 911 sounds like a pretty silly title. Of course it's a silly title; Michael Moore is a silly, unserious person.
But, this is the fifth source I've read which states that Gibson's Icon is going to produce Moore's movie. Now, this could be nonsense. But, if there's no denial from Icon in the next two weeks, you can accept the truth of it.
Mel Gibson is an actor, and a businessman. He's not a politician, nor necessarily politically savvy.
We'll see what Gibson's made of. Principle, or money.

Ooops, should have thought about that name confusion! When I first met Ray Bradbury over 4 years ago, he told me that Mel Gibson was starting to plan a Fahrenheit 451 remake - Bradbury was delighted about that, so it would be truer to the book than the 1960's version. Y'all probably have it right - I can't imagine Gibson working with or even agreeing with Moore on any subject. Ecchhh.
