March 29, 2003 -- American soldiers should suffer "a million Mogadishus" in Iraq, a Columbia University professor told thousands of students and faculty members at an anti-war forum. Nicholas De Genova said those inflammatory words - a reference to the Somali city where 18 U.S. soldiers were killed in the 1993 incident that inspired the movie Black Hawk Down - at an "anti-war teach-in" Wednesday at the school's Low Library.

Perhaps this will be the first war where a professor gets "fragged".

This professor looks a little lite in the loafers. Perhaps he has been fagged.

May I return the wish for the good professor?

"The only true heroes are those who find ways that help defeat the U.S. military," said De Genova, an assistant professor of anthropology and Latino studies.Latino studies? LOL.....
To: megasteve
Is this De Genova an anarchist, by any chance? I know one of them, and that's the way he talks.
To: megasteve
He's a disgrace and unfortunately we have soldiers being killed in the defense of this A-H___!

I have to admire those in the military; I don't think I could restrain myself when contemplating putting my life on the line so that loathsome poltroons like that professor (and goodness knows there are many like him; the village leftist back when I was in college was one of the English professors) can sit in cushy offices behind ivied walls and bash their protectors.

Where to begin...
De Genova said the U.S. Army is composed largely of men and women with a "treacherous lack of prospects for a decent life."
Having spent 20 years in the Air Force...I am not only offended by this lowlife's assertion, but if I met him in person I would probably want to kick his a$$ (being the loser that I am).
As to his comment about patriots being white supremacists, I'm sure many of my fellow (patriotic) veterans of all different races and ethnicities might want to join in kicking his a$$!
If this degenerate is a Professor...then the school who allows him to remain on staff is suspect and the local taxpayers should be demanding some type of action by the (school) administration. Freedom of speech is one thing, but using a teaching position to indoctrinate others with your anti-American views calls for you to get your a$$ kicked!

Different news sources, I think. This is the first time I've seen the NY Post version. This is getting quite a bit of mileage in New York. This guy is going to be difficult to reach by phone for quite a while, I suspect.

Sedition. What are the guidelines for arresting people like this? This is not innocent free speech.

The professor got this review from a student in 2002:
I lost all respect for this man as an academic when he said this spring that Jews no longer have any claim to the heritage of the Holocaust because of Israeli policy towards Palestinians. While at first this seems like a personal attack on my part, it is an academic criticism, and here`s why. Professors are responsible for taking ideas and analyzing them, cutting them down to their roots and components, no matter how simple those ideas are at the surface. De Genova does the reverse: he takes the Mideast Conflict, a sophisticated topic by any standards (even those outspoken Palestinian advocates like Professor Massad) and simplifies it by comparing Israeli policy to Nazi policy. Furthermore, he does so despite the fact that he is not an expert in this area, but rather in Latin American studies. In my view, that makes de Genova an irresponsible and unsophisticated academic. I won`t take his classes now, but not because I don`t like him or even because I disagree with him, but because I don`t trust him to give me a complete, fully-analyzed picture of the issues

De Genova also asserted that Americans who call themselves "patriots" are white supremacists. He obviously wasn't at our rally.

Parents keep spending their life savings to hire professors like this to brainwash their children.
CUT OFF THEIR MONEY!
Starve the universities of money until they allow balance and dissent and move away from their anti-American, one-side Marxism.
