Not for anything but what are our marines doing "hungry"?My son is not a Marine, he's in the Army......but he's 19, and he's always hungry.

I hope we have them taste it first, just in case.It appears that we now have a use for the french.

I think we will hear a lot more, along with a lot more stories of Saddam's brutality, once the Iraqis are certain the regime is toppled and Saddam is either dead or completely impotent.

Wonder what the nice liberals will think of this, seeing that they state that "the iraqis hate us and don't want to be liberated".
The worst was that idiot on o'reilly last night saying that fox and msnbc are too patriotic. Maybe a lib like him would want the news to cheer when our soldiers are killed.

It wasn't an American in Russia, it was a pro-US demonstrator right here in the US, who was given hot chocolate by two women, which made him ill. I never heard what was really in the hot chocolate, just that they were looking for the women. It was probably Hillary and Helen Thomas.

This artilce is probably dis-information. Then again, that's good.
Why, because an Iraqi general or Ba'ath party functionary will read this piece. He will report that this article (and others) confirms the U.S. is stalled and supply lines crumbling. Then Saddam (if he hasn't assumed room temperature) will have a Republican guard division leave their fortified positions (relatively speaking) and cross out over the desert, where by they are toasted tinker toys.
Wait a minute. Didn't that happen two days ago?

I don't think they meant hungry, as in starving, but hungry for real food. I know many soldiers can't stand MREs though I heard they have gotten better.

If the Republicans don't run clips of that speech interspersed with shots of celebration in Iraq althoughout his re-election campaign next year, then they are a bunch of wussies.Good idea. My thought was to run clips of Dasshole back and forth with those of the beret wearing Iraqi Disinformation Minister. They should be able to come up with some nearly word-for-word correspondences between the two.

I would assume that our guys were pretty careful about that, don't you think?Probably had the Iraqi's eat it first to show it was OK.

"Wonder what the nice liberals will think of this, seeing that they state that "the iraqis hate us and don't want to be liberated". They have quite a dilemma of their own and I'm sure they're not liking it one bit. The stories that are coming out more and more every day prove that Saddam is at least as evil as the president has been saying he is and highlights the fact that WE are the ones who are trying to be humane as much as possible AND that the Iraqis DO want to be liberated, but they befriend us at great risk to themselves (like the poor woman who was hung for waving to our troops). This flies in the face of everything the liberals have been putting out, and in many cases, probably even believe. I expect some of them are having a hard time already digesting their crow.

To me, it was a touching and encouraging story. You're going to have to forgive me for being an insufferable hardass don, but that's the way God made me. Logic dictates that you don't take unecessary chances in life or death situations.
It would be "touching" if they were lost travelers, but they're not. They're soldiers who (not for anything) should be getting their food from US. But see we have certain political type lifer Generals who had to make this the fastest this or that for brownie points, just to have them waiting and wanting in the desert for their trains to catch up.
I hope you don't think I'm getting on you case don, you're a nice guy and all, and this story did turn out to be a keeper, thank God. But at this point, we have no idea who the enemy is and won't any time soon. I wouldn't be relying on anyone unless you're 100% positive of who you're dealing with.
Actually, given the current situation, we won't have any idea who the enemy is EVER. Think about it.

It was a nice gesture. I don't believe for a minute that they *needed* the food... But they don't *need* the goodie boxes we send them either. It is a nice token of appreciation, and they should not be insulted for offering it.

Speaking as a mother, I hate the thoughts of our young marines getting only the reported one ration a day because of the supply foul-up. You'd think the DoD could have made plans to feed our troops while fighting this war. :(
