If you recall old photographs of The Point, it's absolutely amazing that ANYTHING is found there, including the Blockhouse itself.
This link (PDF file - picture on the first page.) has an excellent picture of The Point during the Flood of 1936. Hard to believe it's the same place as Point State Park today, isn't it?
