"Whatever label you stick on it, the New York Times got this much right:
"potentially disturbing turn of events"

What doe we do now? How do we deal with this?

Shoot first, ask questions later?

This may sound kind of flip or glib, but it may come to this:

Question: how do you tell an "innocent" Iraqi civilian, from and "non-innocent" Iraqi civilian?

Answer: the bullet-riddled body or vehicle that does not explode under a fusillade of weapons fire can be afterwards presumed innocent...that is, if no hidden weapons are found upon post-examination.

You have probably heard anothe flip-glib term: "nuke 'em all and let God sort 'em out"

This phrase, though spoken lightly or in frustrated anger sometimes can be very close to the mark.

I now understand some of the Old Testament Biblical battles where God ordered to kill them all (men, women and children) including their livestock and level their city or town leaving nothing but smoldering ruin...and to take nothing away from it. In those cases, no one was innocent and none wer to be saved. In fact, God would sort out the innocents afterwards and not the Israelites.

How do we fight an enemy that is willing to sacrifice themselves to Allah? and not in open battle? We are going to have another Viet Nam here if we don't go all-out and perhaps forego some "playing fair", "playing-by-the-rules" business.

The last point is that clearly these suicide terrorists are more of the pattern of Hizbolah, Hamas, Islamic Jihad and those demons from Syria...the same that terrorize Israel almost daily. This doesn't seem to me to be the style of Fedayeen Saddam or Al Qaeda, in the "individual" suicide style. This is only my opinion, but I don't think the Fedayeen are religious, thus don't want to die, they just want to kill. And Al Qaeda are more of the high-explosive speedboats to take out ships, high-jacked airliners to fly into buildings and dirty bombs and WMD types.

I may be wrong...I often am.

Hopefully, our military commanders are meeting with Isralie security forces and learning proven strategies to deal with homicide bombers.

I was listening to Michael Savage yesterday and I am becoming very dissapointed in our military strategy just as Michael is. That is the strategy to do everything possible to avoid causing the poor little Iraqi's from maybe stubbing their toe or somthing. All at the cost of the lives of our young men! Bullshit! Let the carpet bombing begin!

I think you're correct about that and the smart thing to do now is shoot first, ask questions later if not stripped down within a hundred yards before contact.

"Your commie has no regard for human life, not even his own. And for this reason, men, I want to impress upon you the need for extreme watchfulness. The enemy may come individually, or he may come in strength. He may even come in the uniform of our own troops. But however he comes, we must stop him. We must not allow him to gain entrance to this base...."

Strategic Air Command General Jack D. Ripper
(Sterling Hayden).

From the Movie, "Dr. Strangelove."

His foreboding words include three simple rules: (1) trust no one, despite his uniform or rank unless he is known personally, (2) anyone or anything that approaches within 200 yards of the perimeter of the base is to be fired upon, and (3) if in doubt, shoot first and ask questions afterwards.

The above is another great 2 Cents from our own John Huang.

Here are a few paragraphs from John's great article. It is apparent that the left wing media and those on the far right and left hate GW so much. They would love to see our troops slaughtered and run with these BS articles like this NY Slimes thread here.

The Media would hate for the good guys to win this war

Facing stronger-than-expected resistance from media quarters, a U.S. General said Iraqi paramilitaries groups like the Fedayeen Saddam aren't your classic guerrilla force, given their lack of popular support from ordinary Iraqis.

The press, frustrated by polls showing growing support for the war to topple Saddam Hussein, is whipping up a sandstorm, portraying the allied advance, now poised at the gates of the capital mere days into the operation, as a quagmire -- bogged down, behind schedule, buffeted by huge setbacks, including colossal allied losses which, while widely reported, keep failing to materialize, adding to media frustration.

Operation Iraqi Freedom faces stiff media pockets of resistance, waged primarily from newsrooms at the New York Times, the Washington Post, Reuters and the Associated Press, home to Fedayeen Saddmites dressed in "journalistic" clothes. They've been known to use Iraqi propaganda of "civilian casualties" from claimed 'errant' bombing as a form of "human shield" to hamper the war effort.

Taking questions from reporters at Central Command headquarters in Qatar, Brigadier General Vincent Brooks said on Friday that "When you are talking about classic guerrilla warfare, it generally implies a force that is accepted among its population, and we're not seeing that here."

"We're seeing a force that we're encountering on the battlefield that is brutal to the population that it is amongst," he added.

Have all of Bush's allegations about Iraq proven true yet?

WMD? check.
Terrorists? check.
Chemical weapons? I'm not sure. Certainly indirect evidence.
Biological weapons? Probably not yet.
Long range missiles. check.

Am I missing anything?

The checkpoint near Najaf was part of the cordon that the Third Infantry has been enforcing around the holy city, where Ali, the spiritual leader Shiite Muslims is buried in a major shrine visited by pilgrims from around the world.

Not a big problem. Just destroy any access to the road, the road and everything around it. F**k these folks let them walk thru the desert to their holy places.

I would like to know where in the history of warfare, that a country has been invaded and the invading force has been forced to fight with such restraint. I look at TV pictures of Baghdad every day and the skyline never changes. What are we bombing? The same places over and over? By now, there should be NO traffic or 'business as usual' in the downtown areas, but there is! It's surreal. Warfare is warfare and all is fair. Our future enemies are studying this closely and we are exposing our soft underbelly, which is 'restraint'. This thing is really starting to scare me.

What the scumbags in the NY Slimes would like to print is what their left wing anti American butt buddy professor at Columbia said:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/879189/posts

The president of Columbia University said yesterday that he was horrified by the remarks of an anthropology professor who said at a campus antiwar teach-in Wednesday night that he hoped to see "a million Mogadishus" — referring to the city in Somalia where American soldiers were ambushed in a lethal firefight in 1993.

I'm so fed up with the stinkin' press. I just hope our USA Troops will stop being made to fight a PC war. I'd say don't trust any Iraqi at this point. Reminds me of Viet Nam, young children rushing to our GI's wired with explosives.

Dave I've tried to figure this out but I have only had my first cup of coffee. Please help. By the way I loved reading your home page. I'm in LA, so I certainly understand your feelings. We are now a one party state about to tax ourselves into the ground. Business are lining up at the borders TO GET OUT OF KALIFORNIA! One of my fondest memories is a trip with a friend and my dog through Montana and Idaho flyfishing all of their primo rivers and streams. Fishing could have been better, we went in August, we would have caught more in the spring or fall but catching the fish is not everything as you well know.

Here is the worst part of the story. Young men and women who are not trained to hate, but to fight are being killed because they show some compassion for the poor and the helpless. It is good that media is seeing this as it is and we are able to have our knowledge reenforced by pictures of the truth.

CNN just reported that two Iraqis surrended to Americans in one of the Southern Cities and told them that thier mission was to be suicide bombers. But they've been hiding out for a week because they didn't want to die for Saddam.

Thanks. I spent two summers in Idaho working in the Clearwater National Forest. I was into fly fishing, but that really got me hooked.

Re the rx, that is for those who feel depressed about the war based on left wing reports, they should just stick to Free Republic. When the lies of the left like the Reuters BS last night re our 4-5 day stand down, the lie eventually gets exposed here on FR.

I found Diogenesis's threads to be incredible in the Afghan war. The left wing media would be yelling quagmire. Dio pictures and commentary showed the opposite. He is now doing that with the Iraqi war. Dio's latest thread is below. Have a great weekend.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/879224/posts

Also, Dio's thread shows how evil the Fedayeen Soddomites are. It is amazing how those on the left and far right hate our president, our troops and our military leaders more than The Evil Ones!

Next time, just shoot the guy from a nice safe distance.
