You're right its not affecting politically protected groups right now. Still its not too much to hope that the medical advice will be take seriously by every one. One thinks of how people ignored AIDS til it spread beyond control and no one wanted to offend gays as documented in Randy Shilts' book And The Band Played On. The last thing we need is professional medical judgment again being compromised by political considerations.

But SARS could become an issue with AIDS activists because it seems it would be more likely to attack someone with a compromised immune system, as those with AIDS.
