My grandfather and great uncle raised minks, thousands at a time in little pens in their farms in southern IA. As a result, they needed a fresh supply of ground meat, which usually came from downer cattle or horses, which they dispatched with a single shot from a .22 between the eyes. Worked every time. (
A more disagreeable, disgusting industry would be hard to find, btw)
