No shots fired. Holding a conversation with the scumbag! She may or may not have had training about how to use the gun but she certainly hasn't been told WHEN to use it. Like a rape/attempted rape victim who won't ID the perp, she just sent this scumbag 2 blocks over to rob someone else when she could/should have sent him to hell. Sorry, I'm glad she's safe but no applause from me.

Saving a/your life without pulling the trigger is the ideal outcome, anything beyond that is simply damage control. This thug didn't neccessarily fear the gun, it was the womans resolve to use it that he feared the most. It sounds like deadly force would have been justified, but she would have had to go thru a Grand Jury investigation along with all the other grief related to the act. Do you really think that outcome would have been better?

As in my original post, letting perp go to attack someone else is unacceptable. Even if he's arrested he's back on the street in days or hours. A double tap to the chest means someone else (how many more?)doesn't have to suffer an attack with worse outcome.

Do you think looking down the barrel of a gun she didn't fire made the scumbag go straight? He'll just look for an easier target next time.
