Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
To all who helped this get started, thank you!
Special thanks to An.American.Expatriate for staring the daily threads, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

There is strength in being deliberate. While it must be made clear the victory for the coalition is certain, there is another virtue in making the victory occur slowly. A panicked Baath regime will not hesitate to use chems. A slowly strangled Baath party will find the end before they realize it. Rummy has read Sun Tzu.

Strategically, a pause makes good sense. They've been sqwaking about the supply lines, and this'll give them a chance to catch up, refuel, restock, re-arm and get ready for The Push to Baghdad. We don't really have to worry about air attack, since we basically own the skies. We don't have to worry about ground attack, since we own the skies (aerial bombardment does nasty things to attacking troop convoys). Even though this is a surprise, I'm not shocked, nor am I worried. If it's what they say it is, all the better. If it's a piece of dis-info...it may be interesting to see what's REALLY up thier sleeves. Thank you for the explanation. That makes a lot of sense. I appreciate you explaining this.

Geraldo says the 101st buzz is that its merely a catch-ur-breath move. Look, the 3rd ID has to be exhausted after 8 days of basic non-stop, no-sleep.

My husband has brought home a few and tried to convince the kids they were great to eat. Of course, this was 20 + years ago. I tried a cracker, it stuck to the roof of my mouth. My secret thought is they make them with glue, I was starting to panic trying to get it out of my mouth.

Winds aren't right. By Tuesday they shift toward Baghdad and points Northeast. This is not a problem of resupply. Let the RG sweat while we bomb the bejeebers out of them and pick off their artillery and armor. The leftist presstitutes will of course claim their haggling over thin supply security and failed 'mop up' ops in the South is the reason for the pause. We might just be pausing to rid the southern region of the Fedayeen infestation so the people can get needed food and water and medical help. But the presstoads will not report that, don'tcha know!

Gives the good guys a chance to rest up, they having been on the move nonstop.

Rick Leventhal is in a weird mood, huh? Yeah...maybe he's tired? Maybe something's up? Maybe there's going to be a big bomb in Baghdad and the generals don't want our troops within 50 miles of it???? Or maybe tis true re short supplies....they did move very fast up...but that still seems odd to not have anticipated needs for adequate supplies and ability to keep up with troops.

Thank you as well. That also makes a lot of sense. I know that the press really doen't matter, but the thought of a weeks worth of
sh@t flying from their mouths makes me ill.
