Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
To all who helped this get started, thank you!
Special thanks to An.American.Expatriate for staring the daily threads, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

The once-mighty army of Saddam (IIRC, 4th largest in the world)I think it was a Leno-line after Desert Storm: SH's 4th largest army in the world is now the 4th-largest army in Iraq...

Re: Media hand-wringing:
What am I leaving out? Quagmire! Viet Nam! Hungry Troops! Too Fast! Too Slow! Inhumane! Civilian Casualties! Blood for Oil! 4-6 Day Rest! (what am I leaving out?)
Fierce resistance -- many other red herrings.

What can one say? How does one comfort a wife, father, mother or other loved one... and especially with the public viewing of prisoners and those executed lying beside them? I'll tell you how... with praise and honor, almost without exception. Thank you.

Surely it must have occurred to the administration that they would try to destroy evidence. One hopes that they have contingency plans for this.

Question...
How do I post a picture (of Patriot Girl) on FR...?

I'm almost to the point of thinking Iraq won't use WMD. I'd add one owrd, "now." If you think this war is done with Iraq, please rethink. Satan's job does not end on earth.

Never be sorry. You've earned the right to rant. And a beautiful rant it was. Thank you so much for your past service. And thank you for sharing this with us.
To: oldngray
I'm speechless in awe and gratitude.

Saddam was hit w/ the first strike, imho.
FN: Bret Baier: Pentagon: Re. Saddam's whereabouts, after examining the videos out of Iraq: Saddam never mentions a date, never points to specific events, is always sitting down....the man in the back of one video (minus Saddam) was Saddam's personal bodyguard and has never been seen standing with anyone else in 15 years...experts who knew this stuff were stunned.

Saddam was hit w/ the first strike, imho. FWIW, that's my two cents too. He's out of commission.

CBS livecam looks like they're having a party in that bank across the street. Lots of people inside.

Did you just see that Brett Bair report from the Pentagon. He showed a tape from last Thursday's Info Ministers press conference along with the Defense Min.
Look directly behind them in the tape and you see a bodyguard that man is Saddam Husseins personal BG who has never been seen standing behind anyone else in the 15 years he has protected Saddam.
Saddams personal bodyguard is now protecting the Info and Defense Min.'s it seems...
Hmmmmmmmm!
