Rally for the Troops, Aiken, SC
Aiken Tech Student Center
3:00 p.m.
Sunday, March 30th
The college is on hiway one.
We expect over 1,000 people from this patriotic community and all are welcome.
Guest speakers will include state senators and representatives and a special address by audio from Sen. Lindsey Graham. Keynote speaker will be former POW, "Quinn" Herlik. As a local family has been touched by having a grandson (CWO Ronald D. Young) captured in Iraq, we really feel this personally. Y'all come join us and wear a yellow ribbon provided by the JAMES L. HAMMONS

We did not quite make reach 1,000 but we had several hundred people attending, many carrying posters with pictures of their loved ones now serving in Iraq. It was a rousing rally and every time the president was mentioned, there was a standing ovation. Our state senator, Thomas Moore, a democrat, had nothing but praise for the president and said this was the time to pull together for the troops.
LaWana McKenzie, a county council woman and local school principal who teaches patriotism in her school got a standing ovation when she told us to "turn off the tv, get down on your knees and pray for our men and women in the military and for our president"
. A tape was made of the rally and will be sent to President Bush.
Victory is the only exit strategy!
