And "The City" countenances all of this patriotic stuff only on its own terms, confident in the certain knowledge that the peasants are cowering in their overpriced huts.

Those that some seek to honor with yellow ribbons are risking their very lives in the name of freedom, while home-grown sheeple are afraid to face misdemeanor charges ("jail time," you say?) that most likely would be thrown out of court or nuked on appeal-- or by public pressure from those who refuse to wear the shackles jingled by a piss-ant burg in the Third World country that for now continues to refer to itself as "California"....

Oh, puh-leeze. Don't talk to me about people risking their lives in the name of freedom. Since my family LOST their lives trekking over on the Mayflower, and then during the years that followed, and then in the Revolutionary War, I "get it".

And not all of us living here in our "overpriced huts" are here because we want to be. I'd rather be in the farmhouse built by my family 200 years ago in rural N.Y. state, where people fly their flags every day, care about their neighbors, and go to church. But I'm in this overpriced hut because this is where my husband's job happens to be. Lighten up, OK?
