I called. The person answering the phone said Mr. Bollinger was not available. I told her that we are at war and that these statements border on treason as they give comfort to the enemy. If Mr. DeGenova had so much as given a nickle in "aid" to Iraq, that he could then be prosecuted for treason.
She claimed that he was speaking as an "individual" and not as a representative of Columbia University. I told her that anything a professor says while on campus IS something that the university has sanctioned and thus we have to assume that unless he is fired, that this is the official position of Columbia University.
Lets keep up the pressure. This guy needs to be held accountable for his "free" speech. Let him know that "free" speech can be expensive. Lets let him know that free speech may just cost him his cushy little job.
Emphasize that we are at war here and that people are dying to keep this university from being nuked and nerve gassed. And this is the respect Columbia University gives to those who are willing to give their lives to save their sorry a$$es? Excuse me, I've got to go puke.
