It's hard to get good scotch here in PA. There are *no* private liquor stores anywhere in the state. They're all state-owned. The effect is that everything costs 30% more and their selection is abysmal. We usually have to look in DE or MD to find anything really good, because stores in PA either won't stock it or won't order it. I've tried, and PA "state stores" are hopeless. My father has a bottle of the 24 that a friend of his brought from England. Wonderful stuff. It's defintely smoother than the 18 (though the 18 is no slouch by any means).

Can't you sneak into NY, or are you on the other end? I drove across PA once...it took me 6 HOURS. I live in Connecticut...in 6 hours I would be 3 states away.
