Emergency crews are rushing to the scene of a building collapse in Washington Heights, where 50 to 100 people may be trapped, according to initial reports.
The facade of a one-story commercial building at 708 West 177th Street collapsed just before noon Thursday.
Only one injury has been confirmed. That victim was taken to a nearby hospital.
There are also unconfirmed reports that dozens of people may be trapped inside, though not necassarily injured.
NY1 will post more information about this breaking story as soon as it becomes available.

Keep it coming. None of the networks seem to care.

Thanks.
Washington Heights is a mostly residential area of the city with many five story apartment buildings.

A one story building is not quite the same as a 21 story building. A few shovels and a wheelbarrow and the sidewalk will be clear to pedestrians in an hour.
