I've asked countless times since 9/11—some folks are probably sick of seeing me pose the question but it needs to be kept in the forefront of every intelligent mind—what is it going to take for our government to start exhibiting even a modicum of common sense on this issue? It's blatantly obvious that the murder of 3000 innocent people didn't even faze our government. How many people must be sacrificed on the altar of political correctness before someone in power grows enough of a spine to tell it like it is?

Bush reminds us at every possible opportunity that our problem is not with Islam. It's obvious that the entire power structure in our nation effectively shares the same view. This is a monumental problem and we have zero—repeat, zero—chance of winning the war on terror as long as we refuse to even identify the enemy.

I beg to differ, MM. Welcome to 21st century warfare. Bush can't name the eenmy, because we'd immediately have one billion enemies on our hands, armed with Pakistani nukes, rather than the current situation, whereby a fractured Muslim world is divided between those who help us, those who are trying to kill us, and in some cases, a perverse combination of the two.
