ONTARIO, Calif. (AP) - A man was dragged to his death while he clung to the side of his Chevrolet Suburban as a carjacker sped down the road from the Ontario International Airport.
Seok Young Rhee, 55, was leaving the airport Monday afternoon when an individual ran toward his sport utility vehicle and forced his way inside, police said.

Moore's right.
We need to be more like Canada.
Nah...must have been an evil American carjacker.

Wow! Wasn't the carjacker afraid that the driver had a gun?!

Lock all of your damned doors and this kind of thing can't happen. If they have a gun, floor it and lean down to minimize your exposure and run over the scum.
One more reason why we should expand the death penalty to cover any and all crimes of violence.

no, he could have been fairly well assured that the driver didn't have a gun. Depending on the county of residence in California, it can be impossible to get a carry permit.

Lock all of your damned doors and this kind of thing can't happenI was thinking the same thing. I always lock my doors immediately when I get into my car, and leave the windows up. And I've given some thought to what I'd do if the piece of human scum has a gun - I'd probably do what you suggested - floor it, adding some horn while I'm at it.

Authorities said Chichipa told them he was enraged over problems he had encountered at the airport, including lost luggage and a parking ticket. Police said they suspected he was under the influence of drugs and that he was wanted in connection with a separate drug offense.
The perp was probably on black tar heroin or methamphetamine. Altho parking tickets and lost luggage can be pretty infuriating too.
Ya just can;t let your guard down these days with all the illegal crazies from across the border or in the state legislature.

Yet another consequence of disarming people in airports.

I've twice been near carjacked, once in Atlanta, and once in Tampa. The one in Atlanta got my door open and was trying to pull me out of the pickup. I grabbed his jacket and floored it, not letting go until he pulled out of my hand.
The local police caught him after he was admitted to the hospital for a broken leg. I was charged with assault and fleeing the scene of a crime, but the charges were dismissed. He however was not so lucky, he got three years on top of the broken leg.
The second one, I had the doors locked and when he grabbed my door handle, I popped the console and pulled out my Dan Wesson. When he saw the pistol he threw both hands up and ran like a jackrabbit.
I don't travel anywhere now that has a large black or hispanic population without a pistol, I never will either.

The victim was from Walnut, which is L.A. County. And since he wasn't a celebrity or a big campaign donor, he would be "ineligible" for a CCW permit.

My husband knew someone who was an intern at the Univeristy of Southern California's medical school's hospital in south central LA. A good place to be armed. this man carried a pistol, and no he didn't have a permit, this was LA, and he wasn't a politican or a celebrity, so couldn't get one. He would have the pistol on the car seat next to him. There were at least two instances where he was in fear for his life, and picked up the pistol, showed it to the goblin, and that was all it took. Me, I just avoid those areas like the plague they are.

Just like Contra Costa County. The word is, a person can get a permit if you donate enough money to the sheriff's campaign so that he recognizes you and fund raisers, calls you by name, and asks about your health and that of your family.
