I posted this in the other thread, when I looked up from typing, everyone was gone. :-)
I'm a pretty talented chick. I can change my oil, use a circular saw, fix the toaster, kill bugs, mow the yard, put air in my tires,BBQ, refinish furniture...yadayada. I consider myself to be entirely self sufficient. I support equal rights for women as far as equal pay for equal work, and equal promotion for equal skill.
All that being said...
NO women in combat. It is against the nature of humankind. Men kill, we create.
Men protect, we preserve
Men can bury emotions..We survive by expressing emotion.
Men have an inherent need to protect the people they love... Women have an inherent need to comfort the people we love
Men go off and fight, they are men. They are born for Battle. Women need to be at home for those men when they return from battle. Men need our softness to compliment their strength, they need our tears when they can't shed their own, Men need the comfort only women can provide.
We women are soldiers in our own right, but our battlefield is in the home.

You forgot one....
Men love us and we love them.

As an independent woman, I respectfully disagree. A woman's place is found in her own heart.

NO women in combat. It is against the nature of humankind. Men kill, we create. I agree. I'd be prefectly happy to have a woman operate on my brain or build a rocket to take me to Mars, but if my life depends upon blowing another human being's brains out, I want the shooter to be a guy.
Besides which, what if she saw a mouse just as she squeezed the trigger?

It's a zen sort of thing. Yin and Yang. Opposites that make a complete thing when properly aligned.
