There's no pleasing the media; they are like children.
In Gulf War I they complained about lack of access.
This time, they're complaining we "rushed" to war. Now they're complaining it's too slow and we're "bogged" down.
Now they have embedded journalists and said today at CENTCOM briefing "what is the value of staying here for briefings".
Perhaps the realize they've become as irrelevant as the UN.
Their heads are spinning.
That just shows how that the news organizations really don't know what to do with the information sources. They've got guys in the field for small-scale, on-the-spot observations. They've got access the CENTCOM to get a big-picture look at the war.
If they were responsible, they'd have their reporters at CENTCOM trying to actually learn stuff, and give us a good picture of the war. Instead, they persist in their usual attempts to trip up the generals.
This is a great demonstration of how the news media are, by and large, stupid, arrogant, and have an agenda. As you said: their actions are as obvious as those of the UN, and they're irrelevant because of it.
