Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running over the weekend and Monday, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

I think it was Kentucky???

One of the problems with the briefings is that the reporters are so lazy and ill informed that they ask such stupid questions (at least when they are not using the question as a forum for personal commentary).
To: TheExploited
Yeah, ususally the reporters from Europe, especially the BBC ones!

I just got this from my mom via email. Anyone know if this is true??
IT IS ALL ABOUT HOW YOU TREAT THE PROTECTORS OF OUR LAND.
I assume you have all see the reports about how Sears is treating its reservist employees who are called up? By law, they are required to hold their jobs open and available, but nothing more. Usually, people take a big pay cut and lose benefits as a result of being called up... Sears is voluntarily paying the difference in salaries and maintaining all benefits, including medical insurance and bonus programs, for all called up reservist employees for up to two years. I submit that Sears is an exemplary corporate citizen and should be recognized for its contribution.
I suggest we all shop at Sears, and be sure to find a manager to tell them why we are there so the company gets the positive reinforcement it well deserves. Pass it on.

Either way, we may want to consider a name change after this, maybe Baggone or Bombag.

Newsmax.com is reporting that Hans Blix is retiring. How can he retire if we already fired him?!

I proudly shop at Sears. I've always liked Sears, even as a kid picking out my Xmas toys from the cataloug!
Bought a new Kenmore washer/dryer just last year. I used to make Kenmore side by side freezer/frige when I worked at Whirlpool in college.

If true Bush, I am all for it. Wonder if we can get Sears to make an official announcement.

Nice seeing that Al-Jazeera reporting ducking as the bombs were exploding around him. Unfortunately, they were too far away...
To: Dog; Nam Vet
Yes, I found a link. In fact, X-42 was kind enough to put it in writing in a British paper! I will get the link in a sec.

Listening to Hackworth on Hugh Hewitt. He's really turning into a jerk. The best moment was after he blasted Rummy and all the military brass...Hugh asked him if he would admit to being wrong if the conflict ended in two months. Hack just beat around the subject for a while and then accused Hewitt of 'Goose-Stepping'.
I'm ok with a different opinion, but blasting away and then refusing to admit that you would be wrong if things turn out differently then you say they will is completely unacceptable. (Plus he called Rummy a dummy). I'm done listening to Hackjob.

"Listening to Hackworth on Hugh Hewitt."
I had to change the station, I couldn't take it. I never turn off Hugh (well, except when he was Erwin Chemyrinski (sp?) on) but Hackworth was just too far out there for me.

I have lost all respect for Hack. None of these jerks should be bashing our leaders when we're in the middle of a war - (1) comforts the enemy, (2) feeds right into the "anti-war" protests...
Sounds like a bunch of washed-up sour grapes that can't face the fact that a new generation of leadership is facing a problem far beyond any that was faced earlier. Hack is as irrelevant as the UN.
To: Dog; Nam Vet
Oh, I see A Citizen Reporter already found it for you.
You know, if Clinton was writing about this in the papers, you know he was pushing the idea to the media.
To: abnegation
The Centcom briefings give the liberal press the opportunity to show their bias to the whole world. It's priceless. Same thing for C-SPAN, where hateful Democrats call in on the Republican line pretending to be disgruntled conservatives, or call in on the "Others" line pretending to be anti-GOP independents. These tactics are causing them to lose independent/undecided voters.

Can someone summerize the list of succesful Iraqi air force manuvers of the day? {g}
