***Operation Iraqi Freedom - Situation Room - Day 8 - LIVE THREAD***
Various | 3/27/2003 | Me

Posted on 03/26/2003 9:04:14 PM PST by Centurion2000

Good Morning.

This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.

It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.

Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:

Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running over the weekend and Monday, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Can anyone point me to the wonderful pic of a soldier passing out food to Iraqi children? I want to copy it and put it up at work. Thanks!

It would not surprise me if the UN was attempting to cut our knees out from under us. What would we do?

See my post--read "reply to" post. That's where I saw it first.

Discussion with Section9 this AM wherein I suggested that we would try to get 4ID into N Iraq. Sec9 didn't think that was possible w/Turkey problem. I suggested that there's gotta be a way to get a Division north of Bag. Section9 agrees 'Chancellorsville' is ideal.

With announcement of 1Div move, I won the point.

Braggadocio, crowing, whatever.

It's a great day in New Hampshire. I just hooked up my hose and washed my truck in my driveway. I can even see parts of my back yard!!

God Bless America!

Gulf war one lasted 137 days. This one is 1 week old. Neither in Germany or the U.S. do people have an attention span that is longer than a couple of days anymore.

no way he takes himself out. He'll kill as many as he can then try to escape out the back door. If he can't, he'll pull an Arafat and then finally he'll go out in a blaze of glory.

I suspect, if he becomes trapped, he'll make it known on the airwaves and then hope for international intervention....to no avail.

"I don't see a single S-3B in that photo"

If that isn't an S-3 in your link i'll eat it.

My nephew flew an S-3 all over Europe, Asia, and the Middle east in GW1 transporting the top brass to and from meetings on and off the carriers.

I got to do 3 hours in the S-3 simulator on North Island when he was stationed here in San Diego.

I put the dog in the garage because the lawn people were coing to do the first mow of the year. I was standing in the driveway right beside the garage, weeding a flower bed, and when hubby pulled in the driveway, I waved at him to stop. Of course, he opened the garage door anyway....

"Didn't we freeze Iranian assets? I smell a "quid pro quo" here."

My thoughts also. I think there might be a loosening a trade restrictions, on the grounds of humanitarian needs. A couple weeks ago the Iranians were saying the cause of their civilian AC crashes was they could not get spare parts for the planes. Could be very easily that they've been told if they watch this area they get those parts. No overt actions Just protect their border from beung used by the Iraqi.
