Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running over the weekend and Monday, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Has a better pic than my TV right now..comcast ells us yesterday that they will be working on the lines fora few days and cable will go in and out!! DURING THE WAR I screamed at them..not really but did call to complain! One of the things I really like about iTunes is that whatever MP3 you play just flows right over top of the webcam audio. For some reason, seeing all the reporters sitting on their butts and smoking fits really well with "Jive Talking" by the Bee Gees.

It's "public curiosity."
To: An.American.Expatriate
Considering that it's probably Reuters who wrote the article, it'll be something along the lines of "Those terrible American imperialistic brutes bombed a busload of women and children."

I'm rather surprised we haven't heard anything about Tikrit yet.

These perfumed, privileged un-embedded reporters complaining about boredom slay me. Such silliness on display for all the world. And such stupid righteous indignation. This is where I agree with the General .. don't like it .. GO HOME
Better yet .. go complain to you media boss .. they sent you there .. NOT THE MILITARY

I hear Saddam's forces are conscripting boys to fight. Sound familiar?
To: Mo1
Sky Peter Sharp: Iraq troops between 200-5000 have abandoned their positions to a village called Taranguia(sp?). Happened only hours after arrival of 173rd and after pounding by Allied bombs.
Kirkuk is a holy city for Kurds. Very volatile situation.
Expecting another air drop tonight. Still not sure about the role of this brigade. Whether defensive or offensive. Peter guesses that it's to keep the Kurds in Kurdistan.

You're very welcome, Quilla. Sorry about the many typos - I'd rather put out the info as close to realtime for Freepers w/o TV than take the time to correct (esp. pre-coffee, lol!).
