Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running over the weekend and Monday, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

I think that we should strap some of the whiners to some of the ordnance so they can verify that we hit what we say we do.LOLOL! We need a Slap-the-Press website like the Hillary one to take out our frustrations with these mediots.

do these "journalists" get dumber everydaydo these "journalists" get dumber everydayIt is amazing that someone does not pull a pin on a grenade and sacrifice himself to clean up the gene pool.

Is the question du jour the taking out of Iraqi TV against the Geneva Convention?
A prime example of pack journalism witnessed real time.

...they're causing the media to defeat themselves!A twofer. And I think Gen. Brooks has the patience of Job.
To: Peach
General Brooks stated earlier in the briefing that the tv station has duel purposes. I believe he said it is used to communicate to other parts of country.

Tactics Show Iraqis Learned Lessons of War excerpted WP article [headline already shows slant!!] but interesting facts:
"But when the smoke cleared, two Abrams tanks -- virtually impregnable, 70-ton behemoths -- had been shot in their soft spot, a rear grille covering the engine. ---snip--- On the battlefield, it was not immediately clear what weapon the Iraqis used to knock out the tanks. A senior defense official said yesterday that it was a French-made Coronet antitank missile.

Maybe they are really upset about Iraqi TV being taken out because they thought they'd get some face time as we got closer to Baghdad!

Yeah, I heard it and I'm still steaming about this "million dollar press center", I notice that this magazine is reporting from that center, and NOT from the troops. He should leave.

Or they should find that guy a spot at the front.

You are right. New York magazine.

Gawd, I had to come on here for some sanity after making the mistake of watching "questoins" and the self-congratulatory pack of hyenas clapping over that pr*ck's rude question to Gen. Brooks.
Love his comment about not getting into casualty stats--"We're fighting a war here."

A senior defense official said yesterday that it was a French-made Coronet antitank missile.I'm shocked, I tell 'ya. Shocked!

With friends like the French and Russians, who need enemies?
To: Peach
I believe it was either Amnesty International or some international journalism group that said they were going to complain that taking out the TV station was against the Geneva Convention. No mention, of course, of the use of human shields, the Iraqi army dressing up like civilians, the public execution of US POWs, the use of children as combatants, conscripting men & threatening their families with death if they didn't fight....need I go on?
To: mewzilla
I think Iraq HAS used gas on the reporters, moron gas! LOL
