NASIRIYA, Iraq (CNN) -- U.S. Marines searching Iraqi military headquarters in this southern city that was the site of intensive fighting came across a mural depicting a plane crashing into a building complex resembling New York's twin towers, a news agency photograph showed Wednesday.

I'd be glad to line their caskets with the photo free of charge.

I'm sure President Bush will immediately be accused of planting the mural in an attempt to justify the war... LOL

Good try but no cigar ... Palestine is still the salt-in-the-wound 9/11 champion.

I don't know if I'd go that far but I would make the point that both our enemies and our allies in the ME (Saudies and Egyptians) were in the streets dancing and celebrating. Says a lot about the whole of the region and Muslim Arabs in particular.

There's also a second plane approaching the buildings in the background of the mural.

The fact that Queda said that it supported Saddam. And that Saddam said that it supported Queda (sp?) is good enough for me that they make up an axis. I don't think there's much difference between that, and any treaty signed between Hitler and Imperial Japan.

Aw, what are you talkin' about?
Can't you see that she's just happy to get some food and some guy is about ready to stuff a hunk of corn bread into her big mouth?

Look how small the building is- what 11 stories??? Our buildings are so much taller than even their most imaginative artists can even dream of. What a pitiful country and people. I'm beginning to believe our efforts to spare the infrastructure and people are more trouble than they're worth.

Seems to me it should be a pretty high priority to interview friendly locals and determine when this mural was painted.

The best thing in that photo is the marine standing there. Also, what the hell is that little thingy by the bottom of the building? In the white area? It looks like:
? A round headed man with a pointy hat.
? A clansman with his back towards us with his hands on his hips.
? A clown?
? A white smurf..?

Works of "art" such as this are rarely completed and displayed unless the people involved in its production felt proud of the fact that their country played a part in it.

There is no Al-Queda/Iraq connection.
The Democrats said so.

I dunno.
It's kinda a cool primatif sort of thing.
Gotta love the minaret thingies.
Iraq is always described as one of the most educated and literate societies in the Middle East.
I'm not comforted to know that.

My brother was with the 2nd Marine in Iraq in '91 and brought back a pack of Iraqi cigarettes.
Looked like 20 joints rolled by a hippie in Burbank, all wrapped up in a blue package with some guy with a bad mustache on the front.
It was then I realized that these savage sons of bitches would still be riding camels and living in tents if not for the Wests benevolence.
The Iraqis celebrated on 9/11 when 3500 innocent American civilians were killed, and democrat media in this country pitches a fit when 15 Iraqi civilians die by accident.
This war is going to kill 2 birds with one stone: radical islam and the Democratic party.

It's funny, when I saw this photo, I immediately thought of
this highly sympathetic article about the Baghdad "arts community."
This is the kind of "art" that these "artists" produce.
If there is any justice in the world, these "artists" would end up in the tender hands of the Kurdish peshmerga.
