You asked: "Why are you people putting her in that category?"

In another response I wrote:

"Natalie Maines Pasdar's father is legendary steel guitarist Lloyd Maines. He was called in to rescue then produce their last record after the Dixie Chicks had attempted to lay tracks themselves.

The Dixie Chicks' creativity was zapped during a legal battle they started with their record label, Sony Records.

The Dixie Chicks' legal problems began when they refused to produce 5 albums they had promised Sony Records when Sony first signed them.

Then, while still legally obliged to Sony Records, the Dixie Chicks were caught shopping other record labels for a more lucrative contract. Sony Records sued the Dixie Chicks for $400 million dollars for breach of contract. The Dixie Chicks countersued Sony Records for $4 million.

The Dixie Chicks then appeared before the California State Legislature in an effort to position themselves better in their countersuit against Sony Records as well as to gain national recognition as an "artists rights" group.

In the Dixie Chicks' complaint to the California State Legislature, they charged that record companies, such as Sony Records, encourage radio stations to withdraw artists from playlists in efforts to force artists, like the Dixie Chicks to accept "unfair" contracts. The Dixie Chicks claimed that they feared retribution from Sony Records.

Ms. Maines Pasdar and her Dixie Chicks bandmates all have prior histories of seeming off-the-cuff outbursts. The sisters have butted heads and offended since the beginning of their musical careers after studying hard the fastest road to recognition.

The Dixie Chicks chose the business end path within the music industry. It's no wonder they spoke those words. They are, after all, what they eat."

So, the Dixie Chicks were hanging around with the democraps in the California Legislature. Now this all makes sense.

Thanks for the "Behind The Music" info. Lloyd Maines has produced several of my favorite CDs.
