My reply to Lipton:
Dear Lipton:
Thank You for responding to my email regarding the Anti-Bush statments made by your public sponsor, Natalie Maines. I would like to comment on several of your statements:
>> We have every reason to believe the Dixie Chicks sincerely regret the distress Ms. Maine's comment has caused.
>>>> I believe that the only regret that they have is the distress this is causing to their careers, which is over.
>> The Dixie Chicks have in the past shown their love of America in very public ways, such as by singing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl.
>>>> Sing a patriotic song that greatly enhanced their careers in the past does not mean that they ever loved America. This is very obvious. The other statements about awards and a strong bond with America were totally wiped clean off the slate by the stated hateful remarks that were made on foreign soil.
In closing, if you think that the smart thing for Lipton to do is to continue with your plans to associate yourself with these now-notorious America haters on their American tour, you are making a huge mistake.
They are anti-Americans, who bring aid and comfort to our enemies to curry short-term favor with other America-haters. They demeaned our President on the eve of foreign War, in order to ingratiate themselves with foreign opinion, and they have not apologized. You know that they haven't apologized. How could she apologize for her true thoughts?
Natalie Maines said what she meant to say, her apology is a non-apology, she really feels that way. Her C&W will not be returning to buy her albums or tickets. If you support them, I suspect they won't buy your tea either. Because, tea-drinking America is solidly behind President Bush. And we are not ashamed of him. We are achamed of the Dixie Chicks however, and those who sponsor them.
Sincerely,
Rob xxxxx

Al Gore and Lipton now think that the Dixie Chicks are owed an entitlement from all American's. The Dixie Hens monetary support has ended from my pocketbook.

Thanks. No Lipton tea for me. I'll be buying another brand.

What struck me was the line about "regret the distress the comment...caused"
She doesn't regret the comment, just that Americans heard and didn't like it.
This is Lipton's PC response to make everyone feel good and forget about it.

Great rebuttal to a weak response from Lipton.
Their tea sucks anyhow. Try an English or an Irish tea.

I received a reply from Lipton that read the same as yours. I now have a large unopened box of Lipton Tea (I purchased before DC dumped on our country)which I am going to exchange for another brand. I wrote Lipton that I will boycott their products until they stop promoting the Dixie Chicks. If Al Gore and Lipton think that the Dixie Chicks have an monetary entitlement from the the American people they are sadly mistaken. Lipton backed the wrong horse, they had better ditch the Dixie Chicks and cut their losses.
