A coalition Tomahawk land-air missile struck Iraq's national television building early Wednesday, as well as a key telecom vault and a group of buildings housing Baghdad Satellite Communications, the U.S. Central Command confirmed.

According to this CNN article, we left up the Iraqi TV, "because we learn from it", and excuses are being made for not taking it out earlier.
OK, fine, so we finally took it out, and now they are back spewing their propaganda to the Iraqi people and the world. How long is it going to take us to knock it out again, this time for good?

I imagine they have Chinese or other assistance to be SURE if it gets knocked out in one place - it can set up shop another place. Redundancy is a very big part of their effort since basically all they have is propaganda and world opinion. They will NEVER surrender their propaganda outlet. But that does not mean we won't keep knocking them out - GO GET EM AGAIN, BOYS!

The CIA has learned that there nearly was mass suicide by the members of Saddam's inner circle when the broadcast of their favorite show, "Hollywood Squares," suddenly went blank.....

Our cable/electricity goes out from weather related mishaps, wonder how long it would stay up after a missle attack? They must have their protected better or something. Watching the bombs hit and the power stayed on.
Just mentioning it.

What this article failed to mention is CNN decided to increase THEIR Iraqi propaganda campaign while Iraqi TV was off air.

Oh. What I thought Saddam and his ilk were worried about was missing "Friends" reruns.

They would have missed "Friends" had TV not been restored. And the war now would be over.....

Knock it out again.

I'm wondering if some Freepers could shed some light on this.
Would it not be possible to simply take over the airwaves by jamming or overriding the signal?

Would it not be possible to simply take over the airwaves by jamming or overriding the signal? could we do the same to ABC, CBS, CNN, CBC and BBC?

Well...if you all want the truth...Saddam was recovering nicely in his bed from his brief wound...and watching Teletubies...when all of a sudden....they were gone. He cried for hours...thanking they had all died...but then...after taking some nice painkillers...he realized that there weren't gone and that someone needed to fix the teletubies. Four little Chinese guys set up a studio and wham-bang...life was back to normal.
