Iraq: US Have Begun Propaganda War Against Russia BAGHDAD, March 25. Russia has not sold any high technology weapons to Iraq. As a Rosbalt correspondent reports, this was announced by Iraqi Information Minister Mohammed Saraf at a press conference in Baghdad today. He said that the US had started a propaganda war against Russia and emphasised that Iraq had not asked Russia for any help as it already has all the necessary resources to deal with the aggressor.

On Monday US President George Bush accused Russia of supplying highly accurate guidance systems and night vision equipment to Iraq.

And, what would be the reason for launching a propaganda war against Russia if its companies had NOT sold military equipment to Iraq? Man, these Iraqis are stupid.

"Man, these Iraqi's are stupid."

They 'make up' for "stupid", by being sneaky liars.

Listen up @#$%head! We HAVE the hardware and the paperwork. I expected a "Hey, you guys do it, too." Not an unsupportable denial. Get your story straight, eh? BTW, we do NOT do it too, not to countries with UN sanctions, bubba.

"And, what would be the reason for launching a propaganda war against Russia if its companies had NOT sold military equipment to Iraq? "

Russia is against the war. In this case Iraq is right. A Russian company had been selling equipment to Iraq but it is an old story. The White House is suddenly making a big deal out of it to discredit Russia.

Incidently the Russian "government" had nothing to do with the sales though their claims to know nothing about it now is slightly absurd since it has been in the news for several months now.

As another aside, the Russian company that sold the GPS jammers conned the Iraqis. The jammers don't work, and the pentagon rejected claims that the jammers might be able to disable GPS bombs before the war began.

Proof is the fact that just today the military boasted that they had taken out a GPS jamming facility with a GPS bomb.

Much ado about nothing. I would call that US, specifically White House, propaganda.

Well, Pravda seems to think we will be attacking Russia later on because of this. They have an article out today claiming "U.S. war machine sets sights on Russia". Much ado? Maybe. I certainly think they're smoking some good weed at Pravda.

1. We've know that the Russians sold GPS jammers to Iraq because we just blew them up.

2. What would we gain by lying?

3. Even if the US were lying what is Iraq or anybody else going to do about it?

OTHER QUESTIONS

4. Where exacly can we contact whoever is in charge of Iraq so that we can give the proper "response"?

5. Could Iraq include Russian operatives at the site where we intend to give our "response".

6. Could Iraq include any Al Queda members, Palestinian leadership/terrorist members, Wahavi Sect Muslims, UN Security Council, and Socialist around the world at the site where we intend to give our "response"

7. The USAF will deliver our "response" ASAP.

Pravda is a tabloid..sort of like the National Inquirer.

The funny thing is that for most Russians, this war is pretty much a non issue. They couldn't care less. It is only the western news media that makes a big deal out if it.

There were only about 300 protesters in front of the US Embassy in Moscow Saturday. There were more protestors in friggin Guam.

Yeah right!! Me thinks the Russians, French, N. Koreans and Germans had some REALLY BIG reasons for not wanting us to go into Iraq!! (The list will probably grow too!)

So, Monday, I see that you are making a distinction here between the official Russian "government"--and the KGB-Commie thugs of the Russian mob; ie: those individuals who actually control the Russian "government"? Also, as I understand the issue, we are not only discussing "jammers"--but other equipment as well... Moreover, if this small list of prohibited weapons technology is being revealed by the United States, then there is a safe bet that much more may be involved... perhaps in the nuclear realm... and who knows what "that" list may include.

If the Russians are smart... if... they would really want this quote to disappear. Having the Saddam Hussein regime come out, in the middle of bombing, and deny something out of their spirit of global unity and truth looks really, really bad.

I think you are looking at this quote pessimitically. I love it!

Proclaim it throughout the world; Saddam denies for Putin the sale of illegal arms.

With friends like that in the international community, Putin won't need enemies. Goodbye economic aid.

"So, Monday, I see that you are making a distinction here between the official Russian "government"--and the KGB-Commie thugs of the Russian mob; ie: those individuals who actually control the Russian "government"? "

Not at all. I expect that the company that actually sold the equipment paid off key members of the Russian "government" in order to do business with Iraq. It happens everywhere all the time.

Remember sales of rocket booster technology to the Chinese during Clintons administration? Lets see...wasn't the company involved Clintons biggest contributor?

I will point out that just because the company was allowed to sell equipment to Iraq doesn't mean ordinary Russians or most members of its gov't approve. Shiite happens.

There was a time when US companies sold Saddam much more dangerous munitions than what the White house is accusing Russia of providing.

Don't attempt to claim that we didn't know what an evil dude he was then. He was responsible for over one million deaths and the use of chemical weapons during the war with Iran when US companies provided him with all kinds of nasty equipment.

All I am saying is don't get your panties in a twist...Russia doesn't want to kill American soldiers, it's just business.

"Moreover, if this small list of prohibited weapons technology is being revealed by the United States, then there is a safe bet that much more may be involved... perhaps in the nuclear realm... and who knows what "that" list may include. "

Perhaps you could explain why, if the US had evidence that Russia was providing nuclear technology to Iraq, the White House would keep it a secret? They certainly weren't shy about complaining loudly when Russian companies signed an agreement to build a nuclear power plant in Iran.

Incidently the US agreed to build nuclear power plants in North Korea. I guess it is only bad when anyone but American companies get the contract?
