"He and I talked about it and my recommendation to him was that he take the high road and just be very congratulatory, etc., and talk about the troops abroad. But he decided not to," said Donovan, who joined Moore on the stage.
"You know, I don't know if it was the right thing. Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't.
Well, at least he seems to be dimly aware of being in the vicinity of a clue.

Either that, or it's the mice abandoning a sinking rat.

Well, at least he seems to be dimly aware of being in the vicinity of a clue. LOL! Moore's an idiot. He doesn't appear to be getting any good press out of his rant.

I wonder if Moore was so deluded he thought he might be cheered there in Hollywood, instead of booed?

"Co-producers"? It sounds to me as if the dimwit only met Moore for the very first time immediately prior to their appearance together onstage.

This is fascinating...his partner did not know what he was going to do. That probably means that those other sucker nominees (who were the losers) did not know what he was going to say. He just ASSUMED they all felt the same way as he. Wasn't there a documentary about the Holocaust in there? (there always seems to be one), and...yea...I'm sure the guy who made the documentary about the spelling bee was cheering him on! I'd like to hear from these other guys who were dupes.

Two of my least favorite subjects.

Apparently, absolute can't-even-move-his-own-bowels stupidity is a prerequisite for getting a job with Moore....

Actually, I'd say his chances would have been pretty good.

Moore forgot to add, "We live in times when a fictional documentary wins Best Documentary award"

He just ASSUMED they all felt the same way as he.
I heard on the radio yesterday that Steve Martin's crack about the Teamsters helping Moore into the trunk of his car was based on the furious response to Moore by the stage crew when he walked off stage. They were not at all happy by his slander of their President.
Anyone seen this anywhere?

I watched this myself. Two things surprised me. One, the crowd started booing (though tentatively) while others shouted "No!" as if to tell him to stop speaking. Second, Steve Martin made a very funny comment about it while introducing the next category. (not verbatim) "It was a really touching scene backstage. The teamsters were helping Mike Moore into the trunk of his very own limo." - ZOT.
