LMAO....When asked by a reporter about what some of the "military experts" were saying on the news...Rumsfeld responded (paraphrased) "this is a free country, I can't control what they say...now if this were Iraq, we could control it because they would be shot if they said something we didn't like" (remember his is the general feel of what he said, not his exact words)
Rush Limbaugh's comment was "Rumsfeld Dreams of Shooting Press Corps in Briefing"
LMAO....*sigh*....I think it's a vision we've all had!!!

These "journalists" are such an embarassment... speeches disguised as "questions"... can't even remember a simple instruction, ie. asking single questions... ridiculous questions about the war being over in 4 days... asking questions that have just been answered... chatting with eachother while others are trying to hear Rumsfeld's and Myers's answers... such dunces.

Secretary Rumsfeld really knows how to put the press in their place.

Why is the press corps so disrespectful?? Even if they disagree they can have some class when they ask a question.
SHHHHHSHHHHHHHHHSHHHHHHHHH; He hates them, can't blame him.

Rumsfeld now answering the same question that's been asked and answered already several times -- that no one knows how long the war will last and how much it will cost. GWI took 38 days and its objective was much more modest. Now these journalists are in a tizzy because a far more complex and ambitious campaign is not over in a matter of days. These people are children -- with extremely short attention spans.

Yes, I listened as well....*shakes head*...I hope the troops don't hear all that.....no, strike that, I hope they do. Maybe it will resinate with them that these are the same journalists that are making such a hoopla out of the extreme left's protest against the election..ummm...the war..sorry, my slip. *snickers*

Listen to it during the Rush Limbaugh show...his "comments" about the reporters questions make you giggle...a bit of humor is always welcomed during these times. Rush is Right!

Your "slip" is instructive. Once again, these so-called "journalists" are most fearful that America may actually enjoy a great victory under President Bush's watch. Their hatred of George Bush is about as ill-concealed as it could be. It's almost as though they are all working for Al-Jazeera.

It's almost as though they are all working for Al-Jazeera. They aren't???? Oh man, I'm behind in current events...I thought they were!!! *grins* (sarcasm)

Rumsfeld reminds me of Robert MacNamara. Hair? Glasses?
War?
To: cherry_bomb88
Myers's patience with these buffoons is monumental. If it were me up there, I would write on a blackboard in giant letters, "There Is No Timeline," and then ask if anybody present does not understand this simple statement.
To: pubmom
I've seen Kindergarten students who are not that rude. Kindergarten students usually have a certain amount of respect. ;-)

Rummy BUMP!
To: cherry_bomb88
Limbaugh guffawed in the background during his program - it was a "Rummy moment" for sure.
PS My father-in-law was Rumsfeld's high school PE and soph. wrestling coach ;-).
To: oldironsides
"Rumsfeld reminds me of Robert MacNamara."Don't know about the 'hair' and 'glasses,' but I don't see much resemblance myself. McNamara was liar, Rumsfeld isn't. McNamara understood nothing about war, Rumsfeld does. McNamara got a lot of US GIs needlessly killed, Rumsfeld doesn't.
