This report is being denied by British officials.. oh well, it was good while it lasted. First off, it's not being denied, they're saying they "have on knowledge" of it. Secondly, the admission curve of "officials" is often hours, or days behind reality.
There are reasons not to acknowledge certain facts at times, so I would take the British officials statement in that light.
It may or may not be real.

I have read that no body knows exactly what is going on there, it might be a general uprising against the Saddamists and the Coalition. Time will tell.

This report originated with Sky News, which in my observation has had the most wildly unreliable information since the outset of this conflict. Indeed, I've reached the point where I routinely ignore anything I see connected with Sky News unless it's directly corroborated by another source.
