Rocky.. we have gone over to see what CNN was reporting throughout this whole thing. We feel like you, in that it almost seems like they WANT us to loose!! It's the weirdest feeling. But it is definately a feeling you get when you watch them. Even retired General Clark, seems so negative and defeatist.
We just heard last night on the O'Reilly factor, that San Francisco doesn't get Fox News!! Which after watching CNN, would explain the anti-American sentiment in SF. It is anti-American Brainwashing!! Pure and simple.
CNN wonders why their ratings have gone down so much? They should listen to themselves!!

Now reports of fighting further spreading in Basra between Iraqi regulars/irregulars and local inhabitants. Termed a "popular uprising".
US air support supporting the British.
Artillery has been fired it Iraqi positions for past 45 minutes.

Exactly. The Shias in Iraq can inspire their religious brethen in Iran to overthrow the mullahs and move towards a more representative form of government. Things like this snowball and take on a life of their own.

No coverage on CNN..were you speaking in connection with anything in particular, or merely stating the obvious?

Richard Gaisford, the Sky News reporter, is doing one hell of a job reporting what he's seeing right there at Basra.

We need to do like in the movie "Sahara." Water for guns.

"As someone pointed out yesterday, President Bush has a higher approval rating in Basra than in San Francisco."
To give credit where credit is due, that would be rintense.

The end is near for Saddam
Oh, I hope not.
I hope we find out 20 to 30 years from now during a National Geographic Special
"The Hunt For Saddam's EXTRA-Secret Bunker" that he and a select few of his
inner circle got to slowly starve to death or be slowly asphyxiated during their
last days in a blockaded, but undiscovered bunker.
They deserve this sort of fate...unlike the poor fellows on the Battleship
West Virginia (IIRC) that we later found out lasted about a month, trapped in
compartment of the boat.

All these journalists and newsies want the Iraqi people to kiss our ass because we spent a couple of weeks in the desert.Go to hell. The Iraqis are going to thank us, not kiss our asses, because we alone of the world are going to free them from the most brutal and cruel dictatorship since Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, etc. They are going to thank us when their daughters will no longer have to worry about being picked up by Saddam's thugs and being raped to death, and they will not have to worry about having their tongues cut out for muttering against the regime.

Skynews and FOX are like the DEBKA of televison. Actually since compared to the New York Times, CNN, NBC, MSNBC, Washington Post, CBS, and LA Times they are far more accurate than their competition. The BBC is also reporting the same information. Perhaps you will wait to believe this until it comes out on Iraqi TV or the New York Times (probably only after Iraqi TV for the latter).
