Its not immpossible, but about as likely as dropping a nuke. You just aren't going to supply and Armored unit larger than a platoon by airdrop. Its just logistically stupid.

I seem to remember helping survey a drop at Ft. Irwin of armor. Operation Gold Star I think it was, 1981 maybe. Just to show Ivan we could do it. Armor Division I beleive it was. I didn't go on actual drop, roomie did but it made the news.
