you are correct. that is going to be the tipping point in this, will we fight all the way to baghdad and then accept some 11th hour diplomatic deal to end it, avoiding what will be required to take baghdad. i'm not advocating that, but it will surely happen. this whole "saddam, is he dead or alive" thing, i wonder if indeed he is alive, he is just sitting in the bunker, and will emerge only after the 11th hour diplomatic deal is secure, back in power (at least in the baghdad metro area).
