"Do you think we could try and keep this a SITUATION ROOM LIVE THREAD..."
While a bit of good natured banter is "entertaining", I do think that goodnesswins has a point.
The idea of this thread is to keep up to date on the events occuring concerning the Operation Iraqi Freeedom. I know that there are lulls in "the action" and these are sometimes filled with idle chat, but let's try to keep it at a minimum!
There really are some people who are deprived of good news coverage and rely on these threads as a means of "balance" or just plain news! Reading through hundreds of "chat" posts just makes this even harder!
We now rejoin the thread, still in progress . . .

Politely disagree ....
Based on my experience of thousands of hours of midwatch duty in the subs baby-sitting the power plants under sonstruction and operation, you can't concentrate on waiting events (that you cannot control youreself) without relieving the stress ...
Further, as people NOT on watch and duty cycles but unrelated, unpaid real people, the banter and bawdiness allow people to rapidly keep up with accurately breaking news from 12-15 different news sources at once - because it ISN'T dry and technical information. It's real people sharing something so they don't go crazy..
And attempts (by Navy reactors, visiting officer inspectors, squadron advisors, or Rickover himself, or the local police) only increase the stress levels.
Each one-two sentence post requires 2 seconds to read - 4000 can be covered in two hours if you wish. Skip the ones not relevent to your own interests.
Please.
