Such as the status of their government and leadership, who is at meetings and who isn't - very important in knowing who might be alive or not - and how they react lets us know how effective certain efforts are.

Plus, there might be a psyops side - the POWs on TV lets not only know where they are and that they're alive but really pisses off the troops and the American public.

Fox retired guy in suit said that USA Intelligence can tap directly into Fiber Optics...In case there was any doubts.

Not a solid source, but, how did we know where Saddam was for our decapitation mission? Dud(e) on FOX claims sources say that chater suggests that he is injured, and a power struggle is taking place. Guy on fox cited the NSA.

All phones have to have an external line. Somewhere it can be tapped and decrypted.

True, but you can monitor the line to see when the tap is placed. Of course that depends on what kind of tap and how much horsepower you have to buy sweeping equipment.

Best way for us to unleash NORMAL Iraqis against Saddam's thugs is have a nationwide TV broadcast with US Military addressing Iraq and telling them from Baghdad that they are RID of Saddam forever. One minute propaganda......then a brief interuption....then an announcment....
