Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running over the weekend and Monday, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...
TOPICS: Breaking News; Foreign Affairs; War on Terror
KEYWORDS: bellygirl; iraq; iraqifreedom; live; war

You, like the tv press, is forgetting the 101st Airborne. They are a third line that will come up through the south and close the flank when the Iraqis think they can converge.
The Iraqis left, with no real command structure already, will move North and get caught in crossfire and will be wiped out. And don't forget the 4D Marine line.

Yes, he has and I give him credit for that. I don't tend to trust politicians in general.

Yes but a breach in supply lines will leave our dragon's head without a body. Yes but a breach in supply lines will leave our dragon's head without a body. Dang son, your talents and foresight are wasted here. You need to get ahold of General Tommy Franks and let him know you're on the way to save our bacon.

Blair didn't wimp out but he was close that last week until the trip to the Azores. But IMO he has tried to handcuff this operation with his "nice" approach and at some point "nice" is going to have to be taken off the table. We are now into Saddam's territory where a lot of people support him for whatever reason.

BTW, our smallest nuke is the
Davey Crockett at .01kt. Officially, we removed them from our inventory, however.

Well, time for bed.
And, like Captain America and Bucky say..."Keep 'em dyin'!"

Oh come on....125 hours since this all started and you can't expect all that time and probably 20,000 posts to be all war, all the time.
We most all have other internet stuff going on and TV or radio on. We are constantly updating. Right now, the TV isn't updating much either.
I'd rather fill in the void with some silliness than all the conjecture and same old questions we get on TV.

What you say is true, but If we don't change the terms of engagement it could cost us thousands in casualties.

Especially "liberal" politicians. Like in the Senate, I appreciate when the "Liberals" vote with us but I never trust them!

Thank you for you views regarding the banter!
If you read my original post closely, I only requested that it be "held down". I too know that banter is important and relieves some of the stress we are experiencing. However, under normal circumstances, the banter is limited to a small group. When all of us begin chatting on this thread, it would quickly become a chat room instead of a live thread of the days events.
It was for that reason - alone - that I requested it be kept to a minimum . . . FR does have a place for chat - maybe we can create a room *** Operation Iraqi Freedom - R&R - Room *** ?
Anyway, as another FReeper is prone to say - just my two cents worth!
FReeRegards

Well said, I come here for discussion of the war and sometimes others views to help me understand. It's hard wading thru all the lite & airy posts, I agree, please keep to topic!
