Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running over the weekend and Monday, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Let him have his inspections. Kind of like when you have an uncle with Dimensia who insists on going into the back yard to dig for buried chicken heads, you let him. Kind of pitiful, but no harm done.
LOL! That brings back memories. My Dad made a special type of rake for my great grandmother to use to rake leaves. It had only one little spike on it so she had to pick up each leaf individually. (she had Alzheimers)

Is Shep still refering to the media traveling with the troops as 'in bed with'? If he is, I haven't heard it.

That might me more likely than you think. It happened several time in Marine Units in the Korean War were reporters where former Marines assigned to marine units. Once a Marine, Always a Marine.

So, after a long day of posting, it's time for this ex-pat to call it a day (from 5:45 to 22:10 local on FR [g])
You all are the best.
Prayers for our troops, our fallen and the soon to be freed Iraqi people.
Godspeed
(goodnight Belly Girl wherever you are) [G]

I try to avoid other channels besides fox. But I did stumble across CNN the other night when they were discussing POW training in the military. The guy on from the Pentagon was describing their research, etc, and how they have people from the pentagon go and speak with the troops about it. When he finished, the CNN anchor commented: "then they go back to the pentagon."
That channel got changed really quick. Where the hell do they think soldiers from the pentagon come from? UGH.

Story is that the Brits found 300 (or 3,000 according to Shep) chemsuits and a tank (treads and gun type) stashed in a hospital in one of the towns that starts with "N". Right. Doctors, staff, and patients have now been encouraged by Coalition forces to go back in and restore function as a hospital.

re: Canada.. I usually make a dozen yearly trips there.. Shakespeare Festival in Stratford, Shaw Festival in NOTL, to Niagara for biking, kayaking, Niagara on lake for other touristy stuff. The 20,000+ that was spent there normally will either be spent in US or England. I have nver been to GB. I am really PO'd their leadership has turned their backs on us...
