Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running over the weekend and Monday, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

I've believed for a couple days the Storm was part of the plan. They knew it was coming last week before they started the push. I think the original plan was to be where they are now Friday. Arriving just after the storm and the RG would be digging out. The strike on the bunker made them push the ground assault early. They will more than likely use it to take care of some stuff theyve been ignoring for the last 5 days. They may even try to use it as cover, it wouldnt be the best condition to do it in but the wind could offset a lot of the WMD.
Wow! That is an amazing theory! (and I think you may be right!)

I'm stuck in the office today and this is the only link I try to follow to keep up. Thanks to all those posting.
I am just sickened by the news in Basra, but also inspired by the knowledge of how right the President was, and how brave the coalition forces are.

Shep still saying 3000 chem suits, but Mike Tobin at Centcom and soldier he interviewed about the hospital both said 300, as you heard, Dog.

"I've believed for a couple days the Storm was part of the plan. They knew it was coming last week before they started the push."
I did a job at Homestead AFB many years ago, and one morning during the pre-start meeting the guy said "And be back here early 'cuz a bad thunderstorm will be hitting us at 4:56 this afternoon" (It was 7:30 a.m. at the time). We all laughed - but he didn't. By my watch, it was 4:55 when it came!

I've heard 300 and 3,000 both on FNC and here...do we know which it is for sure.
I know the military is well trained, I know we will prevail, I just can't help but get nervous at times. We're dealing with pure, unadultered evil...that's the part that scares me. Who knows what is awaiting us in BAG

They just said "a tank." I assumed it was an armored vehicle.
