Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running over the weekend and Monday, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...
TOPICS: Breaking News; Foreign Affairs; War on Terror

"I'd rather fill in the void with some silliness than all the conjecture and same old questions we get on TV."Respectfully, we are here at Jim Robinson's expense. The purpose of the site is political discussion and activism for the conservative cause. The purpose of this thread is to encapsulate the news of the war, discuss strategy, share info coming in from sources unavailable to others, etc.
Sure, there down times with little news coming is. That's a time to do work around the house (or office!), not post silly, sexist jokes repeatedly. After the first 100 times, I must admit, they get rather old.
There are young soldiers dying for us, so that we will continue to have the ability to speak freely in this nation in forums such as this. They deserve our respect and we should simply have more dignity.
Freepers were quoted verbatim, in the Wall Street Journal, the day after the shuttle disaster. Thankfully we were well represented by those comments to the rest of the world, to whom we wish to present our best side.

Bush asking for Congress to provide the money for "a fully equipped army fighting half way around the world." Hillary wants money for her NY dem voters. First things first. Guess who'll get the money?

Keep an eye on MSNBC...it was sooooo good that I have no doubt they'll replay it.
As to Wesley Clark, I don't think he's dirty. I wasn't saying that. I think he must be an honorable man to have risen to the level he did. I simply think his observations have to be colored by his future ambitions and CNN should disclose that...often.

He's a Clinton man from the Arkansas mafia; he's dirty. After this is over, I'll get kcvl to post some of the stuff she's found on him.

I just posted something to you that wasn't directed at you, although it will look as though it was. It was in support of your position that we try to keep some of the more undignified comments to a minimum.

It cost over 110 billion to clean up the WTC. Prez asking for flexibility for spending for this war. Asking Congress to act quickly and responsibly. Don't think about tacking on extras.

Morning all, finally! Server down at work, I was having a bit of withdrawl. ;0)
This morning I woke to F & friends and heard them mention that we have intellegence that Saddam has been reported to be in an underground bunker, being treated for injuries sustained from first night. Further they said that the have someone in SH's inner circle that is assisting and may be on their way to finish the job.
I have had no time to read back yet, has anyone else heard this report?

for the tv impaired....
Pres. Bush:
Our coalition is on a steady advance, we are making good progress fighting an enemy that knows no rules or law, but we are fighting them with bravery and courage. We do not know the length of this war, but we do know the outcome. The regime will be ended and Iraq will be free. Our coalition is strong and bound together by the principle of disarming this regime that could kill thousands of people. Our troops continue to bravely fight other fronts on this war against terror. Kickin Butt in afghanistan. (my words)
We are bound together by a great cause..The American people have accepted the responsibilty for the costs of this war...Request to Congress will pay for the massive task of financing military action, the money will cover the costs for transporting equip for operations. Includes funds for relief and reconstruction of Iraq. We (and allies) are committed to providing humanitarian aide.
Tommy Franks is a badass. (my words again :-) We care deeply about the human conditions inside that country.
We are protecting our Homeland, asking for more resources on that front. patrolling and safeguarding our borders.
We expect states and communities to take on more responsibilities in protecting homeland.
One thing is for certain, business as usual on capitol hill can not go on in this time. Cut back on extraneous spending, use our resources for the War..
We are winning this war on terrorism. We will not let our future be decided by terrorists.
We are thankful for our troops (Go Bush)
May God continue to look after those that defend the peace, and may God continue to Bless America.
whew.

Lines of Communication are a far cry from "friends & allies". We had lines of communication with the USSR all throughout the cod war!
If Germany or France for that matter were to change thier attitudes, I would welcome them back into the fold. I will not do this as long as they profess hostile attitiudes to the US.

Prez not taking questions.

Just saw your comment. I've posted one more in support of someone else - did it before I saw your suggestion. Sorry. Not trying to be the thread police either - just giving my opinion. Regards

Okay... (actually, my plan is to make the UN irrelevant in everything... then evict them back to Europe where they can continue to play at world peace) I just have a phased plan to do it...
