Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:
Special thanks to null and void for keeping these running over the weekend and Monday, to all of you for keeping these threads alive, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Agreed and well put.

A good question, actually, asking if they have been subject to GPS jamming. We're dealing with it.

Q: Precision of weapons, have you noticed any jamming by Iraqis?
Renuart: We have noticed some attempts to use jamming procured from another nation. NO effect. Destroyed!
To: cyncooper
Coalition destroys 6 GPS jammers.
To: steveegg
The press is asking for numbers.... He won't give them.
Good.
To: An.American.Expatriate
hehe "we destroyed all 6 of the gps jamming stations over the last two nights" "one of them was destroyed with a GPS guided weapon"
To: An.American.Expatriate
First press question about jammers. CENTCOM says that all that have been used (6) have been destroyed. None have worked on our missles yet.
To: cyncooper
That was a good question!

Renuart: We have noticed some attempts to use jamming procured from another nation. NO effect. Destroyed! Now, will the Russkies give the Iraqis their money back?

Question about new procedures with coming upon surrenders.
Renuart: More caution than change in procedures.

The rest were destroyed with GPS jammer-guided weapons.

What am I going to do with my lowered '60 Chevy?
To: AlextheWise1
Jammers give out a strong signal that you can ride a missile into.

PETA would hang me by my toes. On a recent trip to the Caribbean, my husband and I did one of those dolphin swim things. Those dolphins are trained to do tricks and follow instructions! And they're captive! But they love the contact with humans and we had a hard time getting them to leave us to go on to the next group of wimmers. They love being rubbed and interacting with us. It was an awesome experience.
For any Freepers who might have an opportunity to do this type of thing while on the cruise in June, I would recommend it highly!

The war on Iraq is the next battle field on the war on terror. It won't end when Saddam is dead. There are other regimes that must be confronted... I agree with this and I believe that this is precisely why we have so much opposition, even from countries that are our supposed allies. They are making it as difficult as they can now, to slow down and impede our ambitions in the future.
These countries want to contain us in our ambition to wage war against terrorism. Their priorities are not the same as ours.
President Bush is primarily concerned with the saftey and protection of the American people. Russia, France, Germany and many other countries are primarily concerned with gaining power and influence and making money.
Under the Bush Doctrine, either you are with us or you are with the terrorists, they are with the terrorists. All of this diplomatic dancing around is a scharade to deny this but it is the truth, IMO, and it could not be any clearer if it had neon lights and flashing stars on it.
