Totally dissing My Big Fat Greek Wedding did it for me. I read that Polanski won for best director and he received a standing ovation from the crowd. Typical of Hollywood - they just love those pedophiles.

The thing that really gripes me is that they just don't get it. Much of the reason why the Arab world hates us is because of Hollywood. They see the movies and think it is representative of American society. People like Danny Glover that protest the war are moronic. If he really wants to make a difference quit making the same movie over and over again riddled with violence and the most asinine dialogue ever and then we can talk. Until then, STFU!

Ford is a complete putz. He talks a great environmental line but then he has to fess up that he has about 10 private planes, 20 motorcycles, several cars, etc. Oh, and wasn't it nice of him to buy up land in Jackson Hole so no one else could build on it? Of course, he carved off a section for himself on which he built a nice spread.

I can't stand the whole lot of them. They live in a pretend world and expect to preach to those of us who live in the real world. Screw you Hollywood.

Something seems to have happened to him over the past several years. Up until recently, I would have pegged him as a moderate liberal, at worst. And didn't he help rescue a hiker with his chopper several months back?

My understanding is that the Martin quip about the teamsters referred to Moore making the documentary without using union workers..ie, the teamsters are going to get him for that...and so probably had nothing to do with his anti-Bush statements but instead was a joke he planned to use regardless.

By the way i'm not so sure that Martin is a lib. I remember reading a while back that some Freepers thought he was somewhat conservative or at least not a lunatic liberal like so many other Hollywood types.

I just emailed ABC & the Academy that they should be ashamed & take the low ratings as a rebuke.
I doubt the Academy gives a s-it, but ABC does as they have to foot the bill & explain to advertisers who are not going to be pleased to be associated with this debacle.
If I knew the advertisers(we didn't watch either--like the rest of the USA!)I'd write them, too.

Minimize any good that Hollywood does if you want, but almost all in attendance last night behaved very well.

Those who were not booing in the audience were gaping mouth open with their arms crossed. What Moore said was not supported.

Many here bash them the same as if they had all behaved as we feared they would, and that is not prudent. They did good last night in their behavior and in their words for the most part, and I acknowledge and appreciate that. I would rather light a candle than curse the darkness.

Polanski did not get a standing ovation.... The audience murmored and wondered what was gonna happen next when he won.

Have seen replays of his remarks on the news a couple of times - they can present it as mixed boos and cheers but the boos were much more prevalent. Also random crowd shots showed the audience bemused at best as though they were watching someone else's child pitch a hissy in public.

I haven't heard any reports of a decent word spoken last nite about them, their families, or the country that has made these phonies rich. Do you know of any?
I'm sick to death of celeb. culture. If they are so caring let them go and entertain the troops in the desert instead of playing dress up in a well-guarded, air-conditioned theatre.
