I am back...took a break to do some ironing and housework and catch up on the war news. My heart is aching for our brave men and women serving. Saw one of the imbedded journalists interviewing a very young Marine who had been in one of the battles yesterday and he asked him "What was going through your mind?" and the young Marine said "I was wondering if today was going to be the day I died".
Sadly, it was for one young Marine.
Gunnery Sgt. Willie Ellerbrock, from the Naval Marine Corps Reserve Center in Long Beach, enters the home of the foster parents of U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Jose Gutierrez, where the flag flies at half staff Monday, March 24, 2003, in Lomita, Calif. Gutierrez is reported to be the first American killed in combat in the Persian Gulf
